Holidays in the Heart of the City will take place on Friday, November 21, 2025 from 5:30 to 8:30PM. We will feature free Christmas Concerts, Horse-Drawn wagon rides on Ezra Rust Drive, open houses at many venues including the Childrens’ Zoo, Andersen Enrichment Center, Japanese Tea House, The Montague Inn and the Mexican American Council. Food vendors, music and entertainment and much more!

Cookie House Competition: The Annual Pioneer Sugar Cookie House Competition will be held on Friday, November 21, 2025 at the Andersen Enrichment Center, 120 Ezra Rust Blvd.
Cookie Houses will be set up from 12:30 to 2:30PM to qualify for judging at 3:00PM. Houses will be on display for the following day from 10am to 1pm.
Each participant will receive a 4 lb. bag of white granulated sugar and a 2 lb. bag of powdered sugar compliments of the sponsor Michigan Sugar. The sugar can be picked up at the Andersen Center
